Recipients demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, academic achievement, and dedication to careers in government, nonprofit, or advocacy. Applicants must be nominated by their college or university.

Approximately 55-60 Truman Scholars are selected annually from approximately 700-800 nominated candidates — extremely competitive?
