The Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA), Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, funds state grants to provide free or low-cost adult education services including basic literacy, high school equivalency (GED/HiSET), and English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for adults who lack a high school diploma or basic English proficiency.
